Venue: University of St Andrews
Module 9 – There is a two day Microscopy Workshop on Sat 1st / Sun 2nd April 2017 in preparation for the next Microscopy exam which will be held in April 2018. The University of St Andrews has kindly offered to host the workshop at their Biomedical Sciences Research Complex, North Haugh, St. Andrews, KY16 9ST
The Fee for this course will be £80 +£60 for the optional Microscopy beginner’s kit, if selected.
The kit includes all necessary instruments, chemicals and slides (26 items) contained in a 7 litre plastic container. Microscopes are usually acquired by the individual candidate or may be borrowed from the Local Associations (LA). However it should be noted that for the exam in 2018, the exam candidates will be required to bring two microscopes to the exam (a Stereo Dissection and a Compound).
Microscopes will be supplied for the Workshop days, but if participants already have microscopes, they are welcome to bring them and use them during the workshop.
Please apply by 31st January 2017, for the workshop, either by post, on a Courses Application form – enclosing a cheque for £80 made out to the SBA. Send to Alan Riach, Woodgate, 7 Newland Ave, Bathgate, EH48 1EE OR applications may be made on the web-site.
Please indicate on your application form whether you wish to purchase the Beginners Kit for £60, so that we know how many kits to make up. You may pay for the kit along with your application or if pre-booked, you may pay at the Workshop.
