Border Beekeepers Winter Course

Beginners Courses
Last Date: 20 January 2019 10:00

Venue: Newstead Village Hall, Melrose

This is a course run over four Sunday afternoons in the early part of 2019. It is suitable for people wishing to start beekeeping later in the year. Although some people enjoy the course and decide not to keep bees. This is a theoretical course although we try to add in a session when the weather is suitable for some practical teaching with a live bee colony. The aim of the course is to provide a firm foundation for beekeeping before starting to invest in equipment or bees themselves. However, we always find that some people have already acquired bees, but we strongly advise completing and introductory course before taking the plunge.

Places on the course will be limited to twelve people to ensure plenty of group interaction and group learning.

The enrollement fee includes one year's membership of both the Scottish Beekeepers Association and the Border Beekeepers Association.
