Beekeeping Study Notes

Learning the Craft of Beekeeping

There are countless books and other resources available to those learning to keep bees, directed at all levels from a student about to undertake a formal examination, to a practicing beekeeper just wanting to find some more detailed information about a particular problem. This web site does not attempt to duplicate those resources, or to provide a comprehensive account of how to keep bees!

The site does however include a few downloads to help you get started. These include some study notes that have been compiled by Scottish beekeepers, aimed particularly at beginners and those attending classes in local associations. They certainly provide a good source of relevant information for beekeepers in Scotland.

Schools

School pupils with an interest in beekeeping will also find plenty of useful information in the documents listed on the left.

However for those teachers and pupils who might be looking for something a bit more specific, here are a few additional downloads that could be of interest.

Beekeeping in Scotland

This is a series of four articles, fully illustrated in colour, that explain about keeping bees in Scotland. They are written in a 'question and answer' format, and well suited to use in the classroom.
